Piper’s Story: When an EEG Leads to Life-Changing Care
Piper experienced her first seizures right after birth. After searching for a place that could provide neurology care to a newborn, her parents brought her to Boys Town National Research Hospital. Her pediatric neurologist ordered various tests, including a long-term EEG to monitor Piper's brain while she was awake and asleep. The EEG showed a vitamin deficiency and after the appropriate lab work was done, a treatment plan was started. With Piper's seizures now under control, she is becoming more mobile and vocal.
